While most have played top-level rugby, Manawatū tighthead prop Feleti Sae-Ta'ufo'u, 22, will be making his Super Rugby debut.

Other newcomers include hooker Millennium Sanerivi, former Hurricanes first five-eighths Jackson Garden-Bachop, Samoan Olympic Sevens star and second five-eighths Lalomilo Lalomilo and former NRL Tigers wing Solomon Alaimalo.

Sanerivi, a former Kings College 1st XV captain, played his first Super Rugby match for the Chiefs in last year's final before switching to Moana Pasifika.

In a crucial development, the Force has lost leading props Harry Hoopert and Harry Johnson-Holmes for the competition after both suffered ACL injuries.

It was a blow for both players. Hoopert missed three seasons with consecutive knee injuries, while Johnson-Holmes ruptured an Achilles tendon towards the end of last year's competition.

But Wallabies Darcy Swain, Dylan Pietsch, Tom Robertson and former All Black Atu Moli are bolstering the side.

Wing Harry Potter said, "We've had some exciting talent come into the squad and a few Wallabies. It's looking like a pretty deep and talented side.

"Expectations are to get better each week. We struggled last year, but showed some glimpses of how good a side we can be. If we can do that again and build each week, it'll be exciting to watch us get better and better."
