Super Rugby Pacific Fantasy: The ten players to buy ahead of Round Eight

Article Presentation 11

It was a weekend for the wingers as Kino Naholo, Caleb Tangitau and Jona Nareki went big. With the Blues, Chiefs and Fijian Drua back in action, it adds to the growing options available.

Shaun Stevenson

Stevenson will be motivated to perform in his 100th game for the club.

The Chiefs' fullback was at his brilliant best with a 66-point haul against Moana Pasifika before being subbed off after 65 minutes.

Expect Stevenson to play a big role in the Chiefs’ attacking output once again.

Triston Reilly

Reilly can cement his spot in the starting side after Max Jorgensen’s injury.

The winger averages 40 points per game when he started, scoring in back-to-back games.

On top of this, despite last week’s win, Moana Pasifika gave up 47 (Macca Springer) and 35 (Chay Fihaki) points to opposition wingers last week.

Patrick Pellegrini

Pellegrini has been the season's find for Moana Pasifika and has vaulted into Fantasy consideration.

His three-round average sits just under 55 points, only behind Damian McKenzie, William Havili and Ben Donaldson.

Pellegrini will also have a point to prove against the Waratahs, having plied his trade in the Sydney system.

Brayden Iose

Whilst Du’Plessis Kirifi has all the love from the media and fantasy managers, Iose has emerged as the more viable Fantasy option in recent weeks.

Two scores of 50 in his last two starts have bumped his average up to 37.5 when he is in the run-on squad, slightly ahead of Kirifi.

He’ll be up for a big game against the Blues.

Codie Taylor

Taylor takes over the captaincy as he continues to remind everyone of his talent.

The All Black has flown under the radar with Ioane Moananu's emergence, scoring 34 points in 30 minutes last week.

With the Drua leaking several maul tries in their last start, Taylor is one to circle.

Corey Evans

Evans is a sneaky midfield pick given his selection at fullback for the Blues.

The 24-year-old has scored 64 and 26 in his last two games, after a combined six points in the previous four.

More of a boom or bust prospect, but the freedom of the back three makes Evans an intriguing prospect heading into the week.

Ponipate Loganimasi

Loganimasi has been the main fantasy weapon for the Drua on the wing.

Although his nine-point haul against the Western Force was disappointing, he remains one of the top averaging outside backs, with four scores of 40+.

The bye and return to Fiji are only further positive factors in the former Sevens’ star factor.

Soane Vikena

Vikena has been quietly ticking along on a Highlanders team full of big fantasy scores.

He has an excellent floor, averaging 34 when he starts without a try to his name.

If the Highlanders can get their rolling maul working, Vikena has the chance for a big score.

Dylan Pietsch

Pietsch is the ultimate boom or bust prospect but is due a big score for the Force.

He started the season on fire with 80 points in his first two games but has struggled since, with a lot of offence running through Harry Potter’s side.

However, the Brumbies showed there is value in picking outside backs against the Highlanders, with Corey Toole (62) and Andy Muirhead (59) the side’s top scorers.
