Next in Line, a brand-new NZR+ original production made in collaboration with the Crusaders, takes fans inside one of the most intriguing position battles in DHL Super Rugby Pacific.

Premiering at 6pm NZT Wednesday 15 April on NZR+ and the All Blacks YouTube channel, the documentary lifts the lid on a unique blend of mentorship, camaraderie, and competition within the Crusaders' first-five ranks.

With the legendary James O’Connor—former Wallabies playmaker—joining the Christchurch-based club in 2025, a new dynamic has been added to the squad’s fly-half mix. Alongside O’Connor, rising talents Teha Kemara, Rivez Reihana, and James White are pushing each other to be better every day.

Far from being a cutthroat rivalry, Next in Line captures the deeper story of growth, guidance, and mutual respect among four men competing for the same jersey. Filmed over several days inside the Crusaders camp, the NZR+ crew takes viewers behind the scenes, showcasing how the famed red and black culture continues to shape the next generation of leaders.
