2025 Sky Super Rugby Aupiki Teams: Grand Final

The teams have been named for the Super Rugby Aupiki Grand Final between the Blues and Matatū, taking place Saturday April 12, 7:05pm at Eden Park, Auckland.

History is up for grabs in this North v South title clash. The winner will become the first team to claim two Super Rugby Aupiki titles, something the Blues will be looking to do in back-to-back fashion.  

Five players are in line for their milestone 20th Super Rugby Aupiki game this weekend.

The winner of Super Rugby Aupiki will then play the winner of Australia’s Super Rugby W in the very first Super Rugby Women’s Champions Final being held in New Zealand on Thursday April 17, 7:05pm. 

Key Facts:  

Matatū won 37-29 in their last Super Rugby Aupiki game against the Blues, snapping a three-game losing run against them in the competition; though, they’ve lost two of their three away games against the Blues including a 17-27 loss in their most recent meeting at Eden Park. 

The Blues have won 10 of their last 11 Super Rugby Aupiki games, scoring an average of 36.4 points per game in that frame. Their only loss in that time was against Matatū in Round 5 this season.
