BIOGRAPHY
Kurt Eklund made his debut for Auckland against Southland in 2015. After a long injury layoff, Eklund shifted to Bay of Plenty and was part of their Championship winning side in 2019.
He had a breakthrough season in 2020, making seven appearances for the Blues in Super Rugby and then earning selection in the North squad for the revived ‘North v South’ clash. He went on to make his Māori All Blacks debut off the bench against Moana Pasifika in Hamilton in 2020.
Eklund became a fan favourite after his Man of the Match performance against the Chiefs which saw him “Boof” his full Blue Powerade on TV.
