Alena Saili

BIOGRAPHY

Alena Saili joined the Black Ferns Sevens team in her first year out of Southland Girls' High School and made her debut in Sydney at only 19-years-old.

Saili is a powerful ball runner was strong footwork on attack and accuracy on defence. She is a regular selection in the Black Ferns Sevens set up.

Adept at both forms of the game, Saili debuted for the Black Ferns in 2018 and has five international caps in the XVs game.

She is a two-time Olympic gold medallist, the first person from Southland to achieve such feat. In 2022 she was the Southland Sportsperson of the Year.
