What is NZR+?

NZR+ is a FREE digital streaming service giving fans access to rugby content via a free NZR+ Account. NZR+ is available 24/7, 365-days a year and features behind the scenes, exclusive, and original content that can’t be found anywhere else. Within NZR+ we may offer subscriptions to Premium Content including Live matches and tournaments in some territories.

What live games can I watch on NZR+?

Selected matches and tournaments will be shown live on NZR+ in certain countries. Please ensure you are signed up to receive e-mails from us so that we can let you know about these games.

Watching content on NZR+ around the world.

NZR+ produces content and acquires exclusive rights to a wide range of rugby and entertainment content and these content items will be available to all users.

NZR+ also partners with content producers and rugby providers to license rights for other content and live matches. These titles and matches may only be available in certain countries or for a limited time. Customers may see a geo-blocking message when attempting to view content in this category.

What is Global Youth Sevens 2024? 

The Global Youth Sevens 2024 is an elite Under 18 Rugby Sevens tournament that showcases the highest tier of upcoming sevens talent from all around the world. The tournament has been running for several years, with players going on to higher honours and representing their country, competing in pinnacle events such as the Olympics. Action from previous years can be viewed here.  

 

Where can I watch Global Youth Sevens matches?  

The Global Youth Sevens tournament is a three-day event, kicking off on 13th December in Auckland, New Zealand. Family, friends and rugby fans can tune into to the tournament globally, with NZR+ streaming the matches Live and On Demand. To view the Global Youth Sevens tournament on NZR+, a Tournament Pass is required and can be purchased to here.   

 

Why do I need to purchase a pass to watch the Global Youth Sevens Tournament?  

NZR+ is proud to be the streaming partner for the Global Youth Sevens Tournament, supporting up and coming Sevens talent with New Zealand U18 Boys and U18 Girls sevens teams participating. All of the tournament matches will be available on NZR+, enabling fans across the world with an easy, accessible place to watch up and coming sevens talent compete. As an independent tournament, the streaming revenue made from the NZR+ passes will help cover the costs of staging the tournament.  

 

How much does it cost to purchase a NZR+ Pass to view the Global Youth Sevens Tournament matches?  

The cost to purchase a pass to watch Global Youth Sevens on NZR+ across 13 – 15 December in New Zealand is NZD $14.99. Passes will have localised prices for other territories. Click here to view the Pass price in your territory. 

 

I could watch the tournament on Sky Sport New Zealand last year, why can’t I this year?  

Sky Sport New Zealand contributed to production of the tournament in previous years, as such Sky Sport NZ customers could tune into the tournament as part of their subscription. In addition, in 2023 international fans could purchase a Pass to watch . This covered the operational cost to stream all of the matches. This year, NZR+ has come onboard as the streaming partner so fans across New Zealand and the world can tune in. 

 

What countries is NZR+ available?

All countries except for: North Korea, Sudan, Cuba, Syria, Russia, Belarus and Iran.

 


 

Premium Content

How to purchase a subscription to Premium Content

If Premium Content is available in your territory it can be purchased on the NZR+ website in the Account section. Unfortunately, we currently do not support in-app purchases. 

Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel your subscription via your Account page on the website at any time. If you cancel before your subscription period ends you will still be able to watch all Premium content until the end of your current billing period. 

Payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for any partial-month membership periods or unwatched Premium Content

How do I submit a complaint about content on NZR+?

If you are concerned about the content on NZR+, please let us know using this email address:contentcon[email protected]. We take our obligations to our audiences seriously. If you can confirm the specific content, when you saw or heard it, what your specific concern is, and how you would like us to address that concern. Also please include your name and contact details so that we can let you know our response. 

What do I do if I am not satisfied with the outcome of my content complaint?

NZR+ is a member of the NZ Media Council. If you are not happy with our response to a content complaint, or if you haven’t received a response within 10 days, you can use the Media Council’s complaint procedures. You can find more detail on theNZ Media Council website. You will need to attach details of the content you complained about (if possible, please include a link) and all correspondence between you and New Zealand Rugby.

How do I login?

You can log into NZR+ on the home page – follow this link. You will log in with your email and password. 

How do I sign up?

You can sign up for NZR+ here. You will need an email and password combination to sign up. 

How do I update my account details?

You can update your account details in your profilehere. You will need to be logged in to update your profile. 

How do I update my team and contact preferences?

You can update your contact preferenceshere. You will need to be logged in to update your contact preferences.  

How do I update my password?

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset your password by clicking on the 'Forgot Password?' under the Sign In box. Or if you are logged in, you can update your passwordhere. 

How do I delete my account?

If you wish to delete your account please contact us at[email protected]the request and reason that you’d like us to remove your NZR+ account. 

 


 

NZR+ New Sign In Method 

On October 3, 2024, NZR+ stopped supporting login via a NZR Fan Account, Google, Facebook and Apple. To Sign in to NZR+, you'll need an email address and you will also need to set a new password. 

 

How do I set a new password?  

1. Log out on the NZR+ website – here 

2. Click the Set Password prompt on the NZR+ website homepage when you have successfully logged out.  (Note - This process cannot be completed on the NZR+ Apple or Android phone App) 

3. Enter  your email and press submit to receive your Reset Password link via email.  

4. Open the email and click the link to set a new password. 

5. Sign in using your email and your new password to continue enjoying NZR+! 
 
You will need to use the same email that you previously used to sign into NZR+ or the email address associated with the Google, Apple or Facebook account you used to sign into NZR+ 

 

What if I don't receive a Reset Password email? 

You should receive an email with 5 minutes. Please check any spam or junk folders to ensure the email hasn't gone in there. 

Please make sure that you used the same email that you previously used to sign into NZR+ or the email address associated with the Google, Apple or Facebook account you used to sign into NZR+.  

If this does not work or you want to use a new email address you can follow the Sign-up process using a new email and password combination. 

 

Why is NZR+ making this change? 

We are making it easier and faster to sign-in and to stay signed in so that you can enjoy the content on NZR+. 

 

Will NZR+ still be the same? 

NZR+ will be the same but Signing In will be simpler and faster. 

You will now also be able to manage your marketing preferences on NZR+ in the Account Settings

How To Watch NZR+

On Which Devices Can I Watch NZR+?

NZR+ is available on the following devices:

Desktop: PC and Mac – the website is available on all modern desktop browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge

Mobile Devices: Available on iOS and Android smart phones and tablets

Streaming Devices: Content can be streamed to any smart TV using Airplay on Apple TV, and via Google Chromecast.

Smart TVs:

  • Samsung Smart TV – 2019 models onwards (Tizen 4.0). Search ‘NZR’ in Apps and select DOWNLOAD.
  • LG TV Smart TV – 2018 models onwards (WebOSTV 4.0). Search for 'NZR', then choose INSTALL.
  • Android TV - Smart TVs running Android TV as the operating system. (Android TV 5.0+ - Lollipop). Search for ‘NZR’ in the Store and tap Install.

With all phones, tablets, browsers and Smart TVs we suggest that you keep these up to date with the latest version the operating system for the device and the most recent version of the NZR+ App to ensure the best experience.

Can I Watch Multiple Devices at Once?

No, your NZR+ membership allows you to watch video content on one device at a time. You can have multiple login sessions open simultaneously, but will not be able to watch multiple videos at the same time.

If you receive the following message, ‘You are currently watching a video on another device’, you will need to close your previous session and refresh your device/browser to begin watching content on a separate device.

Troubleshooting: Network Connectivity

One of the most common issues seen by NZR+ users is that of weak an interrupted internet connectivity within their home Wi-Fi Networks. If you see constant buffering or loading circles or frequent changes in the quality of your streams, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Restart your browser, device and home Wi-Fi Network
    • Close the browser that had NZR+ open / the NZR+ App
    • Shut down your device
    • Unplug your Wi-Fi router/modem from power for 1-2 minutes
    • Plug your Wi-Fi router/modem back into power
    • Restart device, open NZR+ app / in browser
  • Improve your Wi-Fi Signal
    • Move to a more central location / closer to your device
    • Move Wi-Fi router away from other wireless devices (microwaves) to avoid
    • Move router off the floor
  • Connect your computer directly to the modem
    • Close the browser that had NZR+ open
    • Shut down your computer
    • Unplug your modem from power for 1-2 minutes
    • Plug your modem back into power
    • Turn computer on, plug computer into modem via ethernet cable
    • Open NZR+ in browser

If none of the above work, and you continue to have the same issues, please consider contacting your Internet Service Provider.

Troubleshooting: Desktop Browser Issues

When trying to access a NZR+ program, if you are seeing a continuous loading circle or connection error within the video player, this may be resolved by signing out of NZR+, clearing your web browser’s cache, and relaunching the browser.

If you’re unsure of how to clear your web browser’s cache, please see the below links for instructions from each of the most commonly used browsers:

Troubleshooting: iPhone/iPad

For any issues on the iOS app please try to reinstall the app from your mobile device:

  • Remove the app from your device
  • Power cycle your device (Turn your device off and then on again)
  • Reinstall the app on your device

If you continue to have trouble, install any available updates for your iOS. If these suggestions do not resolve the issues you are encountering please try accessing the app through a different network or Wi-Fi connection to see if the same issues occur.

For any issues on the Android app please try to reinstall the app from your mobile device:
