Reed Prinsep pulled on a black jersey for the first time when he made his Maori All Blacks debut in 2016 against Munster.
A sparkling 2015 provincial season with Premiership winners Canterbury saw Prinsep attract a lot of attention and he was called into the Crusaders in 2016, making his debut against the Chiefs. He had another big season with the red and blacks in 2016 and was one of the team's most successful tacklers, with a 94.4 per cent success rate. That attracted the attention of the Hurricanes, with whom Prinsep signed for the 2017. He has made a big contribution in his first season with the 'Canes, missing just one match as the team headed into the international season.
Prinsep attended Christchurch Boys High School, one of New Zealand's most prolific producers of top rugby talent.
