Mitchell Karpik

IMPRESSIVE loose forward Mitchell Karpik plays with an intelligence and skill that belies his 24 years, standing out at both provincial and Super level.

Ahead of the 2016 Investec Super Rugby season, Karpik signed with the Chiefs, before suffering an injury that prevented him from taking the field that season. He finally made his debut in 2017 and went on to play seven matches, including the clash with the British & Irish Lions. He has since added 13 more appearances for the side.

Karpik plays for provincial side Bay of Plenty in the Mitre 10 Cup and made a big impact in 2018, with his high work rate showing through in ball carries, earning him selection for the Maori All Blacks for their end of year Tour and debuting in the number seven jersey against USA.

His abilities were noticed early, as evidenced by a representative career that includes the New Zealand Schools and New Zealand Schools Barbarians while at King's

College and the New Zealand side which won the 2015 World Rugby Under 20 Championship in Italy.
