Koloamatangi left the field early but looks right to play, good news considering Sam Cane and Tanerau Latimer are still out.
Latimer is close to making his first appearance, with his elbow surgery almost fully healed, but Cane’s knee is far from ready.
Experienced Samoan international Mahonri Schwalger may be available as he continues to recover from eye surgery, but the rest of the news isn’t as sound.
Kane Thompson (groin), Tawera Kerr-Barlow (ankle), Augustine Pulu (knee), Brodie Retallick and Ben Afeaki (both concussion) are still to have a final call made on their fitness, although more than a couple of those players will be scratched.
Mils Muliaina’s elbow injury isn’t as bad as initially feared, although it still isn’t known how long he will be on the sidelines, but he will not require surgery.
Both the Chiefs and Highlanders were the only winning teams so the tag as the sole remaining unbeaten New Zealand Conference team is on the line.
