Tournament general manager Marty Donoghue said due to a high demand from fans, a limited number of one-day tickets would be available from Ticketek as of tomorrow.
“We have a limited offer of 3000 tickets up for grabs. While the vast majority of people will be attending both days, we’re conscious some fans are wanting to attend the tournament for one day only, so we’re adapting to what they’re asking for.”
Donoghue said these tickets offer another option for both locals and visitors, who may not be able to attend both days, and is a great opportunity for those fans to experience all that Sevens Wellington has to offer.
”This offer reflects what is happening at other tournaments, such as Hong Kong, who already have one-day ticket options.
“We have offered this package in the past, and depending on customer demand and feedback, it could potentially be something we continue to roll out in the future.”
Tickets for Friday, February 7, will cost $95, while those for Saturday are being offered at a premium price of $129.
Donoghue said two-day tickets are still available at $209 for those wishing to take up that option.
“In addition to the world-class rugby that will continually be on show, we’ve got some great entertainment lined up across the tournament.
“We hope by introducing a one-day ticket option, it will give those who could not come for the whole tournament, an opportunity to experience at least one of those action-packed days.”
