AllBlacks.com, New Zealand Rugby, the All Blacks and all of the national teams would like to wish all a very merry and happy day, whatever your beliefs may be.
Christmas is no longer a celebration strictly reserved for Christians, with the day regarded as a global civil holiday, while the basic message of the day exists in the form of gifts.
Most teachings subscribe to the theory that Jesus came to save us, and his gift was to teach us to reach out to others with love and compasssion, a day to share and bask in the company of family and friends.
It is a time to relax and appreciate not only the many presents being unwrapped as we speak, but the gifts we have already and enjoy everyday!
A famous poem 'A visit from St. Nicholas' in the early 1800s infers that gift giving began and was popular throughout this period, but while it is the biggest retail period of the year, many say the true meaning of Christmas comes from 'The Christmas Carol'.
Here Charles Dickens famous story in 1843 teaches a grinch about the gift of giving.
To give up one's own needs or requirements, and to look to bring happiness to others, is very much the heart of the warm fuzzy feelings we have over this time.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and we will see you soon!
