Hurricanes Development Head Coach, Clark Laidlaw is excited to see his team get underway.

“This is a brilliant opportunity for our guys to go up against these international sides. All three teams have had games in Australia and will be looking to build on those performances which will be a real challenge for the Hurricanes Development. They are physical opponents so there are sure to be some exciting matches over the next three weeks,” said Laidlaw.

This match will kick off a busy three weeks for the side that will be travelling around the Hurricanes region for these matches. After facing Tonga, the Hurricanes Development team will play the Fiji Warriors at Spriggens Park in Wanganui. The last stop will see the side go head to head with newcomers Junior Japan at the Levin Domain.

Hurricanes CEO James Te Puni added, “These three matches are a chance for our team to get out to communities that might otherwise miss out on Hurricanes games. I’m sure our players will want to provide great rugby for our Canes fans to enjoy.”
