All Blacks Sevens maestro excited
All Blacks Sevens coach Gordon Tietjens, who was inducted into the IRB Hall of Fame at Twickenham in May said he was looking forward to getting underway again, particularly against the backdrop of the London Olympics.
"It's been a real thrill watching the Olympics knowing we will be there in four years' time in Rio," said Tietjens.
"The success of our athletes there has been really inspiring and I am sure their performances will be a great motivator for the players."
New Zealand recorded their 10th World Series title in 13 years last season and players attending the camp include a mix of some from last year's champion World Series team and some who have yet to play for the All Blacks Sevens.
The Golden Tickets...
All 14,000 general admission tickets that went on sale for the 2013 Hertz Sevens at 9:00 NZ time on 7 November sold out in just 17 minutes.
At 8.55am over 5,000 people were already on the Ticketek website in anticipation of the usual battle for tickets.
The Hertz Sevens is round four of the HSBC Sevens World Series 2012/13, to be held at Westpac Stadium on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 February 2013.
"The countdown to the 2013 tournament is on and to sell out once again is great news for the tournament," said Hertz Sevens General Manager, Steve Walters.
"This year we had 14,000 tickets available for the general public sale, more than recent years due to tighter controls on our ticket allocations, so to still get this level of demand from our fans is sensational."

Organisers have added a dedicated rugby zone for 2013, tickets for which are offered to the rugby community through provincial unions, Wellington Rugby clubs and Wellington Rugby season members.
"The 2013 tournament will be a festival of Rugby Sevens and there will be something for everyone," added Walters.
“We want to celebrate the sport and with the recent Olympic fever, the build up to Rio 2016 will only get bigger and better."
