Jacob Skeen is a hard working lock, who made a big impact in his debut ITM Cup season for Waikato in 2014. He is accomplished in the lineout, a standout tackler and particularly effective at the ruck and in driving mauls.
He was born in Tairua, grew up in Whitianga and began playing at the age of four, earning selection for Thames Valley age-group representative teams. He was selected for the Waikato under-15s and moved to Hamilton Boys' High School in 2009. He continued to represent Waikato at age-group level, as well as the Chiefs Under-18s and a New Zealand Under-17s selection.
He is currently a member of the Chiefs Development Squad and was selected for New Zealand Universities tour of Japan, but turned down that opportunity after opting to remain with the Chiefs.
