A dynamic loose forward, Liam Squire was called into the Maori All Blacks for the first time for the 2013 North America Tour and made his debut against Canada in Toronto.
Originally from Manawatu, the Ngai Tahu-linked player has attracted attention because of his power and size as well as his mobility and impressive lineout skills.
In 2013 it was announced that Squire would be joining the Chiefs to play Investec Super Rugby in 2014, his first Super Rugby selection. This marked a remarkable recovery for a player who had suffered a fractured spine three years previously. He had a solid season with the Chiefs, appearing 11 times.
