Honey Hireme was named in the Black Ferns for the first time in 2014 after outstanding form with the New Zealand Women’s Sevens team, with which she won the 2013 Women’s Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow. She impressed in her first three outings and scored three tries during the International Women's Rugby Series.
Hireme, who is one of Waikato’s most experienced players in the Women’s Provincial Championship, has a strong defensive game but it’s her skills on attack - including, a fantastic offload, and a remarkable ability to see a gap – that have earned her selection.
A double international, Hireme's appearances for the Kiwi Ferns (New Zealand's national women's rugby leage team) has earned her the nickname "Honey Bill Williams".
The proud mother of three has arguably the best fend in the game, a fantastic offload, and a remarkable ability to see a gap.
