Shane Christie

A member of the Ngati Kuri iwi, Shane Christie earned a place on the Maori All Blacks European Tour in 2012 after setting the ITM Cup alight with some thrilling play for Tasman. He went on to play all three matches on that Tour and in 2013 appeared in matches against both USA and Canada.

With plenty of pace to go with his imposing size, Christie made his All Blacks Sevens debut in 2011 in England. He played in two tournaments and was part of the squad that secured the 2010-11 HSBC Sevens World Series.

Christie is the inspirational captain of the Tasman Makos and in 2014 joined the Highlanders after making his Investec Super Rugby debut for the Crusaders in 2013.
