Hikawera Elliot

Of Ngati Awa descent Hikawera Elliot – often known as Hika – has an impressive rugby resume and is one of the 2013 Maori All Blacks’ most-experienced players, with eight appearances for the Maori All Blacks.

Elliot was captain of the New Zealand Schools team, was part of the Under 19 World Championship-winning New Zealand Under 19 team in 2004 and made his Maori All Blacks debut in 2008 against Tonga. In 2008 he played his first match for the All Blacks, eventually making his Test debut in 2010. He played three Tests for the All Blacks.

The reliable hooker is also a key part of the Chiefs squad that won back-to-back Investec Super Rugby titles and in 2013 secured the Ranfurly Shield with Counties Manukau, in his first season with the ITM Cup Premiership side.
