Marty Holah

Marty Holah will bring a wealth of international experience to the Junior All Blacks squad of 2007. Holah will co-captain the side, along with Daniel Braid. A scrappy openside flanker with great ball-pilfering abilities at the breakdown, Marty Holah has been an important member of many recent All Blacks squads. While many of his appearances have come as a replacement player, Holah played in 15 consecutive Tests in 2003–2004. Into his seventh season with the Chiefs, openside flanker Holah is the most capped player in the current squad. He has a high work rate, is a great defender and brings a wealth of experience to the Chiefs side. Holah enjoyed a solid season with Waikato last year and also played one Test for the All Blacks during the 2006 Philips Tri Nations. Holah was the 999th player to represent New Zealand when he debuted against Samoa at Albany in 2001. He was also a finalist for New Zealand’s Rebel Sport Super 12 player of the year in ’01 and played in every Test that year.
