Harono Iringa was first noticed in the wider national sense when she was still in Northland in 2015.
Fast forward to 2017 and the then 22-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough year with the Counties Manukau Heat. Making five starts at lock and three at No 8, Iringa was dominant in the Heat’s Farah Palmer Cup campaign on their way to a home final against Canterbury, scoring a try in the 48-0 defeat of Manawatu.
Iringa proved a key figure in the engine room of a seasoned and rugged Heat pack. That experience will stand her in good stead for any higher opportunities that may come her way in 2018 and beyond.
