Chelsea Alley

Chelsea Alley got her first taste of the Black Ferns campaign environment when she was called to England as an injury replacement in 2012, going on to make her Test debut a year later.

A skillful outside back, who can play a range of backline positions, Alley has proved exceptional in directing her backline and has a useful ability to score tries. She made her first class debut in 2011 for Auckland while playing for the Waikato University Rugby Club, was a key part of Waikato’s successful return to the Women’s Provincial Championship in 2012 and in 2016 led the North Harbour Hibiscus in the Farah Palmer Cup, becoming the Union's top points scorer.

She returned to Waikato University in 2017 and has taken up a part-time job as Waikato Rugby’s Women’s Rugby Development Officer, a role she also performed in North Harbour.

Favourite rugby ground FMG Stadium Waikato

Favourite rugby player and why... Ma'a Nonu - Developed into the world's best second five-eighth. Became such a polished, professional player over the years.

Earliest or best rugby memory... Playing in bare feet on frosty Tokoroa mornings and loving it!

Biggest influence on your rugby and why... "Uncle Geoff - He always has the best advice and is a great coach! Reuben Samuel - Wouldn't be where I am now without his support and guidance. "

Last song you had on repeat... Suicide Squad

Favourite non-rugby sports team... Blacksticks

Sporting hero... I have heaps! Past / Current Black Ferns Anna Richards, Carla Hohepa, Honey Hireme + Richie McCaw.. Also Valerie Adams :)

If you could meet one person, who would it be and why... The Queen... Just cos it's the queen...

"I hate it when..." Victoria Subritzky Nafatali is disruptive to my learning in analysis sessions.

If I wasn't a rugby player, I would be... Solo Backpacking around the world... Definitely
