Renee Wickliffe is a key part of the Black Ferns strikepower. She’s fast, strong and has a good eye for the tryline.
Wickliffe joined a resurgent Counties Manukau in the Women’s Provincial Championship in 2013 but was previously a key part of the Auckland Storm. She made her Black Ferns debut in 2009 against England and featured in the Black Ferns’ World Cup defence in 2010. In 2014, she played in six Tests and scored four tries. Wickliffe is also a Women’s Rugby World Cup Sevens winner with the Black Ferns Sevens side, for which she debuted in 2009.
Wickliffe missed the Black Ferns' 2012 Tour of England, but returned to the Black Ferns in 2013, where she showed her strength on defence. In 2014, she played in six Tests across the International Women's Rugby Series and the Women's Rugby World Cup and scored four tries.
Wickliffe is an IRB Sevens World Series and Women's Rugby World Cup Sevens winner with the Black Ferns Sevens side, for which she debuted in 2009. She was recognised by her community as the winner of the Supreme Award at the Manurewa Sports Awards in 2014, which followed her recognition in 2009 as the national Maori Sportswoman of the Year.
