Halie Tiplady-Hurring

The versatile Halie Tiplady-Hurring returned to the Black Ferns in 2014 after previous campaigns in 2008, 2010 and 2012 and tournaments with the New Zealand Women’s Sevens team. Tiplady-Hurring is an inspirational player to have in the squad, with safe hands under high balls and defensive strength complementing her eye for a gap and quick turn of pace.

Tiplady-Hurring captained Otago for the 2013 Women’s Provincial Championship, in what was her second season with the team – she had previously earned 37 caps with Canterbury. She scored five tries in five matches and provided a useful kicking option as well.
