Campbell Johnstone's “strong right shoulder” led him to be a bolter for the All Blacks squad for the 2005 Lions series and he debuted against Fiji at Albany. He has moved up through the age grade ranks from when he played for New Zealand Under 16 in 1996, and in 2007 will again represent his country in the Junior All Blacks side to play in the IRB Pacific Nations Cup. Johnstone cemented his position in the Crusaders starting XV in 2006 after sitting on the bench behind All Blacks Dave Hewett and Greg Somerville. He is a big stamp collector and says if he wasn’t a rugby player he would like to be a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.
