Scott Hamilton

Scott ‘Bubbles’ Hamilton earned his first All Blacks selection In 2006 and scored a try on debut against Argentina. In 2007 Hamilton has been selected for the Junior All Blacks, after finishing the Super 14 with 49 first-class tries to his name. Hamilton also played for the Junior All Blacks in 2005 when he started as fullback and scored a try in the team's 48-10 win over Queensland. A tall, well-built three-quarter, Hamilton has the pace to create opportunities and the strength to finish close to the line. A strong defensive player, Hamilton is a reliable decision-maker who shows good game sense and is likely to turn up in the right place at the right time. He scored a hat-trick in the Crusaders’ semifinal win over the Hurricanes in the 2005 Rebel Sport Super 12 and collected the first try of the final to kick-start the team’s championship drive. Fifteen of his 24 Canterbury tries have been in Ranfurly Shield matches. • His brother Dallas Hamilton played for Marlborough in 2001–2002. They played against each other in a Ranfurly Shield match in 2002. • One grandfather, Colin Hardie, played for Canterbury for five years between 1946–1950. He played against the British Isles in 1950, and in the Canterbury team that won the Ranfurly Shield later that year.
