Sivivatu played six Tests for the All Blacks last year and was initially named to play against Argentina in June of this year. However, the Waikato player has only recently returned from arthroscopic surgery on a knee injury.

Winger Scott Hamilton has been released and the All Blacks squad remains 30-strong for the three remaining Tests in the Philips Tri Nations series.

The All Blacks selectors also plan to release Sivivatu for Air New Zealand Cup action again this weekend pending further assessment of a sore shoulder, injured during Waikato’s match against Canterbury last Friday.

Meanwhile, Otago’s Nick Evans will train with the All Blacks this week providing cover for Luke McAlister who has a sore jaw after his appearance for North Harbour on Saturday. Evans will first train with the All Blacks on Tuesday.
