New Zealand Schools named for first match against Fiji Schools     27 Sep 2013    

New Zealand Schools Head Coach Russell Hilton-Jones said the squad’s preparations in Christchurch had gone well this week with all the players showing good discipline and commitment to their programme.

The New Zealand Schools team to play Fiji Schools in Sydney tomorrow is:

Hilton-Jones named Cambridge High School student Mitchell Jacobson – not named in the playing 23 for tomorrow – as the team’s captain. TJ Faiane will lead the team for their match against Fiji tomorrow.

“The boys have done an excellent job preparing this week. We want to make sure we give everyone some exposure to game time, and we want to use this first match to keep looking at our combinations.

“This is a first-class, and very robust side. The boys are itching to get on with the tour so we’re very excited to finally be on the way.”

The New Zealand Schools team flies out to Sydney today for their three-match tour.
