Tasman name side with score to settle against Otago

James Mortimer     05 Sep 2013

Otago won 41-34, overcoming a 13-point lead that Tasman had carefully built over the match.

Tasman coach Kieran Keane, who thought his team had beaten Otago for the first time as well as confirm a final's appearance, said that was still a painful memory.

"Without putting too fine a point on it we were disappointed to lose down south," Keane said.

"We had a 13-point advantage in the semi and they came back really well. They way they came back made them deserved finalists.

"We had them on the ropes. I think we've learned a few lessons from it and we've got a bit better."
