Despite a first up loss to England yesterday, Gordon Tietjen's troops recovered to post wins over Spain and USA to set up a quarter-final meeting with the impressive Australian team - who had looked the goods on the first day.
England and Samoa are also both through to the semi-finals thanks to 31-7 defeats over Scotland and Argentina respectively.
Fiji, who created a bit of unwanted history yesterday by becoming the first such side never to reach a Cup quarter-final, took out their frustrations on the United States with a 29-12 win.
The All Blacks Sevens will play the winner of Kenya and South Africa in the Cup semi-finals.
