Black Ferns Coach Brian Evans said they felt it was important to give the experienced group another chance to gel as a team, following their first-up 16 - 13 loss to England last Saturday (NZT) morning at Esher RFC.
"Obviously everyone was disappointed to let England take that game, but they've all picked themselves up, and the team has trained exceptionally well. They are looking forward to the second Test," Evans said.
Young first-five eighth and new cap Victoria Nafatali (Otago) has had her tour cut short after straining the posterior-lateral corner of her knee which is expected to take 4 - 6 weeks to heal.
Waikato's Chelsea Alley has been called in as a replacement and will fly this evening for England.
