The game against the Wellington based team will be played at a critical stage in the Rebels 2013 Super Rugby preparation, with many returning Wallabies and new recruits pushing for starting spots for the season opener against the Western Force the following week.
RaboDirect Rebels Head Coach, Damien Hill, said last season's pre-season match against eventual 2012 Super Rugby Champions, the Chiefs, was a huge success, lauding the venue and the Geelong Community as an integral part of the Melbourne Rebels Club.
"Simonds Stadium is a world-class venue. We could not have picked a better final stage in our preparation for this season's Super Rugby Competition," said Hill.
"Last year we witnessed first-hand how passionate the community is about their town and their sport. There is a rich rugby tradition here in the City of Greater Geelong, with Geelong Grammar and the Geelong Rams all part of the Rebels community."
The Rebels will once again host a Junior Rugby Union Clinic on the outer grounds of Simonds Stadium on that day, with all children between the ages of 5 to 18 welcome to attend.
Tickets go on-sale for the RaboDirect Rebels v Wellington Hurricanes game via www.foxtix.com.au on Monday November 19, with prices starting from $15.00.
